Hadley

Taught by Caryl-Rose Pofcher, owner

of My Dog, LLC, these are reward based pet dog classes.

​Basic Manners

5 Weeks / $130

Learn sit, down, stay, come! Instill the skills for no jumping, good leash walking, name recognition, leave it, drop it, and more! Great for young dogs, newly re-homed dogs, and dogs who need to brush up their skills. Pet owner and pet will attend classes once a week for 5 weeks.

Intermediate Manners

5 Weeks / $130

Like high school for your dog – don't stop at Basic, life requires more! Walk on a loose leash past a high distraction item or Come! to you past a temptation like a person or toy, walk past another dog and handler team without puling or stopping to say 'Hi' – lots of real life practice once your dog knows the basics!

Bump Up Your Skills

3 Weeks / $125

Participants select 3-5 behaviors. They may include “Come!”, leash walking, drop it, don’t jump! Each class creates its own list. What’s yours?

Ludlow

Taught by the PAWS Training Group. Methods incorporate communication, leadership, respect, trust, rewards, and the right type of correction.

Obedience I

5-Weeks / $125  
This is considered elementary school. This class will help you teach you and your dog all the basic commands such as Sit, Down, Wait, Take-It, Leave-It, Drop-It, Come When Called, walking on a leash, socialization, household manners, learning to read your dog’s body language, and so much more! By the end of this class, you will be ready for Obedience II and you will be able to read your dog and know what he is thinking. This is a 5-week course and is open to all puppies and dogs 10 weeks or older. Certificate of Completion is earned. Proof of Vaccines required.

Obedience II

5-Weeks / $125 
Whether you have mastered the basic commands, or you are still having challenges around distractions, this class is for you and your dog. The curriculum is geared towards real life situations. We will help you integrate everything you learn into your everyday life and routines. With new commands like Stay, Heel, Place, and Targeting, the class is mentally and physically stimulating to your dog. This 5-week course is designed specifically for dogs aged 5 months and older. Prerequisite: Obedience I or equivalent. Certificate of completion is earned. Proof of Vaccines required.

Obedience III

5-Weeks/ $125

This class is geared towards more advanced commands and distractions. At the end of this class, you will be ready to take your Canine Good Citizen test (CGC by the AKC). Your dog will be suited to accompany you to busy places in real life situations. When you graduate this class, you should be better prepared for an active lifestyle. This 5-week course is designed specifically for dogs that are 9 months and older. Prerequisite: Obedience I & II or equivalent. Graduation Diploma earned. Proof of Vaccines required.

Obedience Drop-In Class

1 hour /$15 
At every class, owners will have access to one of our skilled instructors to answer questions or concerns that need attention. Each class will provide guided instruction on developing skills; however, individual needs also will be addressed. Who will benefit from this class? Busy families that need flexibility in scheduling and individuals that may only need some guided assistance on one or two particular behaviors. Whether you just have a couple questions or concerns that could be addressed in one class or you don't have time to commit to a 5-week course, these classes provide valuable opportunities to train and bond with your dog in the presence of a skilled PAWS instructor.

 

Socialization Class

1 Hour/ $5 
Socialization classes offer more than just play. They teach your dog boundaries with humans and other dogs. Socialization is the most important aspect of being a dog. Come wear out your dog’s energy and learn how to read their body language! This is a drop in class. When you purchase a punch card, you can come any Saturday or consecutively, the choice is yours.
 

Purchase a 10-class deal, you get 11th class free! When you have used all the classes on your card, turn your card in and you are entered into a drawing to win 5 more classes for free! Vaccine information is required to be presented at the purchase of your class card deal.

You will be given a punch card the day you purchase the 5 classes. You must present your vaccine information when you purchase your class card.


Individual Classes

Come when you want, fill out the form, and pay only $5 each time. Vaccine information must be brought to each of these classes, and a form must be filled out each time. If your dog shows signs of aggressive behavior towards dogs or people, socialization class is NOT the answer.


ALL CLASSES  REQUIRE PROOF OF VACCINES PRESENTED AT THE START OF THE CLASS

Ware

Taught by Jennifer Fortin 

Certification in Animal Nutrition, Kennel Management, and Veterinary Assisting

NKC Licensed Judge/Breed Inspector

Obedience Drop-In Class

1 hour / $10

Socialization Drop-In Class

1 hour / $10

Socialization is incredibly important for a dog and entails more than just exposing your dog to other dogs. In order to be thoroughly socialized, a dog needs exposure to a variety of people of different sizes, shapes, races, genders, ethnicities, etc. The dog also needs exposure to a variety of environments, sounds, objects, animals, and of course, other dogs.A socialized dog tends to accept new people, places, things and experiences easier than he/she would if not socialized, and Smithland Supply is the perfect place for your to start getting out in the world!

Puppy – Obedience I

7 Weeks / $112

Introduce your puppy to basic skills in a fun, relaxed environment, to set the foundation for later learning. This class covers the basics: loose leash walking, coming when called, sit, down, stay, leave it, and an introduction to the heel position. Learn the handler basic training formulas, management techniques, and problem solving strategies – all while developing critical opportunities for early socialization and confidence building.

 

Class Requirements:

  • Canine training partner
    (age 10 weeks and over)

  • Appealing food reward/
    training treat for dog

  • Bait bag/training pouch

  • 6 foot leash and collar/harness

  • Proof of age-appropriate vaccines

Obedience II                                       7 Weeks / $112

Learn, practice, and complete this course with a solid understanding of obedience fundamentals. Focus on commands for sit, come, down, stay, wait, and the heel position. You will be given skills to encourage good manners to prevent behaviors like jumping, and will learn about the importance of marker training.

 

Learn to get and keep your dog’s attention — even in distracting environments. Emphasis will be given to handling skills, while your pet strengthen core exercises and new behaviors. You and your pet will enjoy games and challenges that make obedience fun.

 

Class Requirements:

  • Canine training partner
    (age 5 months and over)

  • Appealing food reward/
    training treat for dog

  • Bait bag/training pouch

  • 6 foot leash and collar/harness

  • Proof of age appropriate vaccines

Obedience III  

7 Weeks/ $112

Fine-tune your basic obedience skills with a focus on good manners, ignoring distractions, walking politely on a leash, and coming when called. Learn hand signals, distant commands, and out of sight stays.

    (prior obedience training)

  • Appealing food reward/
    training treat for dog

  • Bait bag/training pouch

  • 6 foot leash and collar/harnes

  • Proof of age appropriate vaccines
